Statement on Inter-Korean Summit meeting at Panmunjom

The Maldives has always supported all efforts to bring peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and diplomacy. We therefore welcome the Inter-Korean Summit held on 27 April 2018 and applaud the beginning of a new era of dialogue and understanding between the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

We are confident that the momentum of dialogue initiated by the two leaders will continue and the Korean people will soon be able to enjoy peace and prosperity in the entire Korean Peninsula.
