Ambassador of Australia calls on Foreign Minister Dr. Asim

The Ambassador of Australia to the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Bryce Hutchesson, called on His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives today.
During the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry this afternoon, Foreign Minister Asim and Ambassador Hutchesson discussed the existing bilateral relations between the Maldives and Australia, and ways of further strengthening the existing ties particularly in human resource, security and regional development.
In addition to this, Foreign Minister Asim also provided updates on the political developments in the Maldives following the Presidential Elections and the ongoing work in regards to the transition of government.
Ambassador Hutchesson assured his commitment to continue working closely with the Government of Maldives in further strengthening the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Australia.
Foreign Minister Asim was accompanied by His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, Secretary Bilateral and Ms. Fathimath Razana, Assistant Director, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Hutchesson was accompanied by Mr. Daniel Fisher, Second Secretary of the Australian Embassy in Colombo.
