Foreign Minister Shahid meets several Foreign Ministers and Permanent Representatives

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid met with several Foreign Ministers and Permanent Representatives in New York today.
As part of a series of meetings, during his two-day visit to New York, Foreign Minister Shahid met with the Foreign Minister of Indonesia and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation on global issues of mutual interest, especially in combating climate change and sustainable development.
Foreign Minister Shahid also met with Permanent Representatives of Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Brazil, Equatorial Guinea and Belize, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation on issues of critical importance to the Maldives and exchanged views on ways to strengthen joint efforts at the UN.
Minister Shahid was accompanied in the meetings by Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the UN and Ambassador to the United States and senior officials at the Permanent Mission of the Maldives to the United Nations in New York.
