Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid meets US Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid met with US Secretary of State, Michael R. Pompeo today.

At the meeting held at the US Department of State, this morning, Minister Shahid and Secretary Pompeo discussed about justice sector reform, good governance, rule of law, transparent public financial management, anti-corruption, growth of civil society, responsible infrastructure development, and education.

Minister Shahid and Secretary Pompeo also agreed on the importance of partnership with the US for the safety, security and the prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region.

Minister Shahid was accompanied at the meeting by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and Ambassador of the Maldives to the United States of America Ali Naseer Mohamed.
