Norwegian State Secretary calls on Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid

The Norwegian State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marianne Hagen paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid, today.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon, both the Foreign Minister and the State Secretary held discussions on sustainable blue economy, President Solih’s foreign policy and global issues of importance to both countries.State Secretary also stressed the importance of small countries to work together, especially in addressing common challenges, such as protection of the environment, sustainable use of resources, climate change adaptation, both bilaterally and at various multilateral fora.
Minister Shahid expressed appreciation for Norway’s active engagement and support to the Maldives and conveyed the hope for strengthened ties between Norway and Maldives.
Foreign Minister Shahid was accompanied by Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Shiuneen Rasheed, Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
