Foreign Minister departs to Germany to participate in the Fifth Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid departs on an official visit to Germany this morning, to attend the Fifth Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue which is scheduled to be held from 9-10 April, in Berlin.

The Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue is a leading international forum for exchanging ideas on safe, affordable and environmentally responsible global energy transition. During the dialogue, Minister Shahid will contribute at the Panel discussion on “Geopolitics in the Age of renewable energy”.

During the visit, Minister Shahid will also be meeting with His Excellency Heiko Maas, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, and hold discussions to enhance the existing bilateral relations between the governments of the Maldives and Germany and explore avenues for further cooperation between both countries.

The Minister is attending the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue on the invitation extended by His Excellency Heiko Maas and the His Excellency Peter Altmaier, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany.
