Government of Maldives and Government of the Russian Federation sign an Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa requirements.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid signed an Agreement for the Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements for nationals of the Russian Federation and nationals of the Republic of Maldives, with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, this afternoon.
While speaking to the Russian media after the signing ceremony, Minister Shahid said, “This would further enhance our broader cooperation and coordination on bilateral issues and facilitate stronger trade and economic relations between both our countries”
The Agreement aims to enhance greater exchange of people to people contact between the two countries and would provide 90 days on arrival visa for citizens of both Maldives and the Russian Federation. This Agreement will be in effect after thirty days.
