Ambassador Omar's visit to Luxembourg

On the 27th of April, Ambassador Omar paid his first visit to Luxembourg as non-Resident Ambassador of Maldives. During his visit, he had the opportunity to exchange views with Ms. VĂ©ronique Dockendorf, Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg on how to further intensify the bilateral engagement between Maldives and Luxembourg.
Ambassador Omar held meetings with Ms Cindy Tereba, Director of International Affairs of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and Mrs Julie Becker, Chief Executive Officer of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. Discussions focused on how to expand the close ties and trade cooperation with Luxembourg, including the facilitation of sustainable investments through the LGX platform for green, social and sustainable securities.
Ambassador Omar had a courtesy call with Mr. Edvardas Bumsteinas, Head of Asia and Pacific Division of the European Investment Bank (EIB). During this meeting, he reviewed the close bilateral cooperation with the EU and expressed interest to further intensify the engagement between Maldives and EIB through the Global Gateway initiatives.
