Minister Shahid holds virtual interaction with Permanent Representatives of the some of the Small Island Developing States in New York

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid today, held a virtual interaction with of the Small Island Developing States in New York . Permanent Representatives and representatives from Cabo Verde, Comoros, Mauritius, Seychelles, and Singapore, took part in the meeting.

In his remarks, Minister Shahid highlighted the close relationship between the Maldives and SIDS countries, especially on issues of mutual interest. He further highlighted the many thematic areas on which the Maldives and SIDS have worked together in the past.

During the meeting, Minister Shahid shared his perspectives on the sustainable recovery pathways from Covid19, enhancing climate action, promoting sustainable development, and revitalization of the work of the General Assembly.
