Japan provides a Grant Aid of 117 Million Japanese Yen to the Maldives to the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship

The Government of Japan has provided a grant aid of 117 Million Japanese Yen (approximately USD 865,000) to the Maldives for the continuation of scholarships opportunities to be offered by the Government of Japan for the fiscal year 2023, under the Japanese Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS). The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and the Ambassador of Japan to the Maldives Her Excellency Takeuchi Midori signed the Exchange of Notes today, at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The grant will provide 6 more scholarships again this year to the Maldivian students, a project which was implemented in August 2020, by the Government of Japan for further promoting the Human Resource Development in the Maldives.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Civil Service Commission, Embassy of Japan and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) attended the ceremony.
