The Government of the Maldives will host the Sixth Maldives-EU Policy Dialogue on Wednesday, 23 November 2022. The purpose of this annual dialogue is to facilitate open and constructive engagement between the Maldives and the European Union (EU) to further strengthen the existing ties of friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and the EU.

This year’s dialogue will include discussions on democracy, governance and strengthening of the justice sector, security cooperation, trade, tourism, investment, finance and economic cooperation, environment and climate change and Schengen Visa facilitation.

The EU delegation will be led by the Ambassador of the European Union to the Maldives, Denis Chaibi. The Maldives Delegation will be led by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid. Ambassadors of the European Union and senior officials of the Maldivian Government will also participate in the dialogue.
