Foreign Minister Asim sends Independence Day greetings to Sri Lanka

The Message reads as follows:
“On the auspicious occasion of the Seventieth Anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence, I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency, the Government and the friendly people of Sri Lanka.
As the closest neighbour with whom the Maldives has developed timeless friendship, the Maldives considers Sri Lanka as an important partner in its development efforts especially in the area of economic, social, cultural, health and education.
I am confident that the existing ties will further flourish to historic proportions to ensure a stronger development partnership for the mutual benefit of both countries as well as the continued regional peace and prosperity.
I also take this opportunity to wish every success, peace and prosperity for the friendly people of Sri Lanka”.
