Ambassador Dr. Niyaaz calls on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of UAE

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of UAE in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, Ambassador Dr. Niyaaz expressed appreciation from the Government of Maldives for the continuous assistance and support of the Government of UAE to the socio-economic development of Maldives, and discussed about matters of mutual interest to both countries.
In addition, Ambassador briefed about the current political situation in Maldives, and gave assurance that the State of Emergency declared in Maldives does not have any implications for those travelling to Maldives on holiday.
Furthermore, Ambassador conveyed warm greetings to the Minister of State as this year will mark the 40th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his remarks, the Minister of State reiterated the importance of the strong relations between the two countries and reassured that the UAE government will continue to extend its support to the development of Maldives.
Mr. Ismail Niyaz, Third Secretary at the Embassy of Maldives participated in the meeting.
