Foreign Minister Departs to Turkey to attend the OIC Summit to discuss the Ongoing Situation in Palestine

Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Asim has departed for Istanbul, Turkey tonight to attend the 7th Extraordinary Islamic Summit Conference convened by the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss the serious ongoing developments in the State of Palestine. The Summit is scheduled to be held in Istanbul, Turkey on Friday, 18 May 2018.
The Delegation of the Maldives led by Minister Asim, includes Secretary, Bilateral of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs His Exellency Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, and Assistant Director Mr. Ismail Mamdhooh. Minister Asim is scheduled to deliver a statement at the Extraordinary Islamic Summit Conference.
The 7th Extraordinary Summit Conference is being convened on the invitation of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Chair of the 13th Summit Conference of the OIC in response to the grave developments in the State of Palestine, as a result of the ongoing Israeli brutal aggression against the Palestinian people and the inauguration of the US Embassy in Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
