56th Session of the Programming Committee of SAARC begins in Kathmandu

The 56th Session of the Programming Committee of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) commences in Kathmandu, Nepal today.
The Committee, under the chairmanship of Nepal will deliberate on matters related to important areas of cooperation such as poverty alleviation, education, agriculture, rural development, terrorism and trade. The two day meeting will further consider and make recommendations on matters related to SAARC Regional Centres and Specialized Bodies such as SARCO, SARSO, South Asian University and SAARC Development Fund.
The Maldives is represented at the meeting by Mr. Ismail Mamdhooh, Director and Ms. Shafgath Shafeeq, Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
