Minister Shahid sends Liberation Day greetings to Kuwait

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid sends a felicitations message to His Excellency Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.
Minister’s message reads as follows:
“It is my pleasure to extend warm felicitations and good wishes to Your Excellency, the Government, and the people of the State of Kuwait on the jubilant occasion of the Liberation Day of Kuwait.
I would like to extend heartiest congratulations and wish continued peace, progress and prosperity to the friendly people of the State of Kuwait.
I am confident that the close brotherly relationship between our two countries will continue to grow stronger in the years to come.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”

The Parliament passed the Amendment Bill on the Decentralization Act that paves the way for greater gender-balanced representation
On 5 December, the Parliament of Maldives (Majlis) voted in favour of the Bill on amendment to the Decentralization Act (No. 7/2010) submitted by the Government, which includes the clause that one-third of local councils must be occupied by women.
