Foreign Minister attends reception to celebrate the 69th National Day of China as Chief Guest

The Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim attended as chief guest, the reception to celebrate the 69th National Day of China, hosted by the Embassy of China in Maldives, this evening.
While addressing the function, Minister Asim conveyed warm greetings and good wishes on behalf of His Excellency President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, and the people of Maldives to His Excellency President Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China and the people of China.In his remarks, Minister Asim highlighted the historical relationship between the Maldives and China, and noted the positive contribution of China towards the Maldives socio-economic development, through Chinese development assistance. In this regard, while highlighting some of the major infrastructure projects and the large number of tourist arrivals from China, Minister Asim expressed gratitude to the Government of China for its continued support to the Maldives.The Reception organized by the Embassy of China in Maldives, in Kurumba Maldives, was attended by Ministers, Members of the Parliament, Diplomatic Corp and high level officials from Government and Private Sectors.ENDS
