Foreign Minister Dr. Mohamed Asim meets H.E. Mr. Masaharu Nakagawa, Minister of the Environment of Japan

Foreign Minister H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim met with H.E. Mr. Masaharu Nakagawa, Minister of the Environment of Japan at the Ministry of Environment of Japan this afternoon.
During the meeting both Ministers noted the positive developments taking place throughout the world to mitigate and adapt to the risks of climate change. The two ministers discussed further cooperation within the context of Japan’s Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM) on reduction of low carbon emission and renewable energy. Minister Asim thanked the Government of Japan for the numerous assistance extended to the Maldives over the years to promote the clean energy in the Maldives.
Foreign Minister Dr. Asim was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, Secretary Bilateral, and H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Uvais, Ambassador-designate of Maldives to Japan, Mr. Ahmed Fazeel, Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Mr. Adam Hamid, First Secretary and Mr. Mohamed Thahseen, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Maldives in Japan.
