Foreign Minister Shahid holds a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of Kenya

Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid had a telephone conversation with the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Kenya, Her Excellency Raychelle Omamo, SC, EGH, this afternoon.
During the phone call, the two Ministers discussed the challenges faced by their respective countries due to COVID-19 pandemic. Minister Shahid briefed about the measures taken by the Maldives Government to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Minister Shahid also commended the efforts undertaken by Kenya in combatting the COVID-19 virus. Both Ministers also discussed on cooperating closely on issues of global importance to both countries in various international arenas.
The Maldives and Kenya have a long-standing friendship and this year celebrates the twenty fifth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
