The Ministry of Foreign Affairs joins the nationwide campaign to minimize Single-Use Plastic, initiated by His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih today.
At a ceremony held at the Ministry this morning, Foreign Minister Shahid, presented reusable glass water bottles to the staff of the Ministry, which could be used as a replacement for single-use plastic bottles. In his remarks at the ceremony, Minister Shahid praised His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, for leading by example, by launching the Campaign to minimize Single-Use Plastic in the President’s Office this morning.
Minister Shahid also encouraged the staff to use natural light at work during the day, to conserve electricity.
By replacing single-use plastic water bottles, the Ministry will be able to eliminate the use of 27,840 plastic bottles per year and reduce the Ministry’s plastic-footprint.
