MoU signed with UAE on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

The Minister of Environment of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan and the Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in the Field of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, at a ceremony held this evening at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The MoU will facilitate cooperation between the two countries with regard to renewable energy, generating the exchange of experiences relating to practices, policies, frameworks and the sharing of scientific and technological information.
The Government of Maldives considers this as a significant milestone in the bilateral relations which the two countries nurture and one which will help the Maldives in moving towards a more sustainable future as in the vision of President Solih’s Government.
The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Official Visit to the United Arab Emirates by His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. His Excellency the President is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid and the Minister of Environment, His Excellency Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan.
